Description:
Faster Town NPCs

The Problem

You ask a villager to move three sticks across town.

They accept this sacred duty with the speed and urgency of a ceremonial furniture inspection.

By the time they arrive, your campfire has gone out, your patience has filed a complaint, and the sticks have emotionally moved on.

The Solution

This mod gently informs Bellwright’s town NPCs that walking faster is, in fact, allowed by medieval law.

Villagers still walk like people. They just stop moving like every errand requires a committee, a permit, and a short personal journey.

What it changes
  • Raises shared TownNpc strolling speed from 150 to 225.
  • Raises shared TownNpc walking speed from 350 to 475.
  • Raises movement acceleration from 700 to 900.
  • Leaves sprint speed unchanged, because this is a QoL mod, not a village-wide emergency drill.

Agility: the speed sauce

Bellwright already lets Movement Speed and Movement Acceleration improve with Agility.

This mod raises the baseline, so villagers can get even faster as they learn Agility. A fresh recruit becomes less "decorative road feature." A trained agile worker becomes someone who has remembered that jobs exist.

What you will notice
  • Player villagers get around town faster.
  • Hauling, job switching, and general daily movement feel less like watching bread rise.
  • Neutral town NPCs can also move faster, because the mod changes shared TownNpc movement defaults.
  • Some NPCs may shift into a light jog on roads. Roads are apparently inspirational.
  • Your town may begin to look like it has discovered schedules.

Important honesty department

This is not advertised as player-settlement-only.

I tested it. It can also affect neutral town NPCs.

Would it be cleaner if it only affected your own settlement? Yes.
Would it be funnier to pretend I solved that already? Also yes.
Am I going to lie about it? No. The villagers may be faster, but the description is not running from the truth.

Compatibility

This will likely conflict with other mods that edit:

/Game/Mist/Characters/NPC/TownNpc/TownNpc

If another mod changes the same NPC blueprint, load order will matter and one mod may override the other.

Recommended mod manager

I also made a lightweight Bellwright Mod Launcher for managing local mods and Steam Workshop mods with a simple available/active drag-and-drop interface.
