Description:
What is this mod?

Filter Menus REDUX is an expanded version of [WOTC] Filtered Menus.

The original mod is already excellent and remains the foundation of this project. REDUX was created to add several features, streamline or remove functions considered unnecessary, and optimize the overall filtering workflow.

This is not intended to replace or diminish the original mod. It is an expanded and refined version built on the original concept.

It adds configurable filter panels to many strategy-layer menus, helping reduce clutter in campaigns with large item pools, many soldier classes, expanded research trees, and equipment-heavy mod lists.

This mod is still being adjusted. If you experience bugs, broken localization, odd filter behavior, or compatibility issues, please report them.

Core Features
  • Filter panels for multiple strategy menus.
  • Auto-apply filtering without repeatedly pressing Apply.
  • MCM configuration support.
  • Saved filter, search, and sort state where supported.
  • Engineering item search.
  • Buildable-only toggle for Engineering item crafting.
  • Available-project toggle for Proving Ground projects.
  • Promotion-ready toggle for soldier lists.
  • Localized category display overrides.
  • Performance improvements for large lists.

Supported Screens
  • Engineering Build Items.
  • Proving Ground / Workshop project screens.
  • Research screen.
  • Armory soldier list.
  • Inventory / Storage.
  • Black Market buy and sell screens.

Filtering and Search
  • Filter items by category.
  • Filter weapons and armor by type where applicable.
  • Filter by technology tier where useful.
  • Filter research by research type.
  • Filter soldiers by class and rank.
  • Show only promotion-ready soldiers.
  • Search Engineering craftable equipment by name.
  • Reset filters without necessarily clearing search.
  • Reset search without changing other filters.
  • Filter lists are generated from currently available entries where possible.
  • Unused modded categories are hidden when no matching entries exist.

Engineering / Proving Ground Features
  • Engineering item crafting includes a buildable-only toggle.
  • Proving Ground projects include an available-project toggle.
  • Engineering search is separated from normal category filters.
  • Crafting an item no longer forces a full list rebuild every time.
  • Filter behavior is designed to avoid interrupting repeated crafting.

MCM Support

This mod supports Mod Config Menu.

  • Enable or disable filter panels by screen.
  • Configure panel position.
  • Use anchor-based positioning for different resolutions.
  • Enable or disable automatic filter application.
  • Save filter options.
  • Save search text where supported.
  • Save sort selection where supported.

Performance Notes
  • Large lists are filtered with cache-aware logic where possible.
  • Inventory and Black Market filtering avoids recreating unnecessary rows.
  • Removed or sold items are checked against current HQ inventory before being displayed.
  • Dismissed soldiers are checked against the current HQ crew list before being displayed.
  • This should reduce lag in heavily modded campaigns, although performance may still vary depending on your mod list.

Mod Support
  • Vanilla WOTC items and soldiers.
  • LWOTC-style large equipment pools.
  • Modded weapon, armor, utility, and project categories.
  • Localized category display overrides through config and localization.
  • Compatibility adjustments for Squad Manager-style soldier screens.
  • Compatibility adjustments for Combined Workshop and Laboratory-style project screens.

Compatibility
  • This mod modifies several strategy-layer UI screens by attaching filter panels and wrapping list behavior.
  • It may conflict with mods that heavily replace the same screens.
  • Mods that only add items, weapons, armor, projects, research, or soldier classes should generally work.
  • Use the Alternative Mod Launcher to detect UI conflicts.
  • If a modded category displays with an internal template name, it can usually be fixed through localization or category overrides.
  • Compatible with [WOTC] Combined Workshop and Laboratory.
  • When [WOTC] Squad Manager is detected, the squad-name filter is enabled, allowing soldiers to be filtered by their assigned squad.
  • When [WOTC] Squad Indicator is detected, the Armory filter panel is repositioned below its squad panel to avoid overlap.
  • When Amalgamation Classes WOTC is detected, class filters are hidden to prevent incompatible or redundant class filtering.
  • This mod was designed to be compatible with Long War of the Chosen.
