Roads, buildings, airports for 1.19
This mod is 1.19 equivalent to Road Network Map mod for prior NIMBY Rails versions.
It converts road network into asphalt-like gray color and aims at reflecting the road width closer to reality. It also colors building roofs into a darker color and makes airport tarmacs, runways and taxiways visible.
Some of these edits can be made directly in the game without a mod by changing default vector colors, others cannot.
Compared to the pre-1.19 version, while buildings have been added, some data is no longer in the game and thus cannot be used – this includes the number of lanes, types of pedestrian paths, fences and walls.
As a result, road width is more of an approximation and compromises than before. This mod may not work best in some densely built medieval city areas.
I chose to hide pedestrian crossings under the road surface for better look.
"Track" type roads are shown in brown as if they were unpaved. Bridges come with railings and shading to simulate 3D appearance, tunnels are darker colors. Footways are a lighter color to de-emphasize them.
The main road gray color is a little lighter than in real life to make it easier on the eyes, and have railroads more visible (since the game is about railroads). For the same reason, road edges are a fairly light gray. The colors are set to integrate with my railroad and road track packs. (Note the asphalt gray is slightly lighter than in my road track pack, by design, for the reasons noted).
Data is based on OSM tags as carried into the game. The tags as used around the world can be inconsistent, and there are many errors. These errors will be shown in the game. If you see one and can correct OSM, your changes should quickly reflect in the game.
Road widths have been "smoothed" based on road type – motorways and primary roads are 10.0m wide, secondary 8.0m wide, links 6.0m wide. Tertiary, residential, etc. are 4.4m wide. Bridges and tunnels are wider.
If you find different widths work better for you, you can change these easily in your local version of the mod.
To display the mod, in Map Options menu, select Sources, press Default vectors, then select Styles tab below. You should be able to see the mod in the list. Click the box to display.
When you activate or deactivate the mod, the current tile may not be immediately changed if you are zoomed in and the tile is cached. To clear the cache and refresh the map, press F11, then press "clear map render and DB cache" button, then press F11 again.

As version 1.19 is in pre-beta and may change, this mod may also change.
