Su-30SM2
The Su-30SM2 is a significant modernization of the Su-30SM multirole fighter, developed by the Sukhoi Corporation for the Russian Aerospace Forces. The aircraft combines the twin-seat Su-30 platform with 4++ generation technologies of Su-35S as a transitional solution. The main differences are the installation of the new "Irbis" radar from the Su-35S, which provides very long detection ranges and the ability to track multiple targets simultaneously, and the installation of more powerful, fuel-efficient AL-41F-1S engines with an all-aspect thrust-vectoring system. The Su-30SM2 was unveiled in 2020, and deliveries to operational units, particularly Naval Aviation, began in 2021–2022. It is gradually replacing the existing Su-30SM fleet. It is also famous for ability to carry ultra long range R-37M missiles!
