Description:

TYNAN! Why have you forsaken us?

For of all sad words of tongue or pen, the saddest are these:

Fix: Rectangle drag designators displayed the total number of designated cells on screen rather than the actual number of cells in the dragged rectangle.

For some reason, Tynan has decided to give us the absolutely useless value of the area of the dragged rectangle instead of that actually useful thing: the number of cells actually affected. How many trees am I chopping? How many plants am I harvesting? Unknown, forever out of our eyes’ purview, as we are dominated by a simple geometrical formula: W(idth) x H(eight).

But no longer! Now, we can find both. Tynan, in his infinite wisdom, felt it important that we know the area of the rectangle. Who are we to doubt that? But now, we can also know how many cells are affected out of the total. That most treacherous of the four fundamental operators lies before us now: X / Y. Now, we can see the fraction of the total. Now, finally, we may be enlightened.

Ok, more seriously, I don’t know why they "fixed" it to change what the designation tooltip displayed, from affected to total. If you asked for this, you should feel ashamed of yourself. So I’ve changed it. I’ve even left it so that you can see the total too as well, if you’re a filthy degenerate who’s into that sort of thing.

Q: Will this work with mods that change designations?
A: I don’t know. If it’s an issue let me know and I’ll look into it.

Mod Options
"Classic" mode enables the old RimWorld style that displays *only* the total number of cells affected, not the total count.

The option to enable tooltips for small zones is on by default, and will show the tooltip for designations <3 cells wide/tall.
