Orbital physics
This mod ads correct orbital physics to every planet in the space sector.
You need to be fully out of the atmosphere of the planet so you don’t slow down and crash.
DO NOT USE QUANTUM RUDDERS, you will slow down and crash.
ONLY USE IN THE "SPACE SECTOR" MAP
In the mod UI you can see the closest body, mass of that body and the radius of the body.
You can also see the altitude, apoapsis and periapsis.
And also: Orbital period, time to apoapsis and time to periapsis
(all of these are measured from the core of the planet so you need to subtract the radius to know your altitude above the surface)
You can also time warp (like in KSP) so your interplanetary flights don’t take too long.
"time x 2" will double the speed of time.
"time / 2" will half the speed of time.
(it is not recommended to have warpspeed <1 and >32)
The orientation is calculated relative to the planet.
(not universal orientation)
(0° yaw is north relative to the planet)
For The Map!
To toggle the map use the button or use the ‘m’ key.
(if anyone finds it annoying that the map is linked to the ‘m’ button, tell me)
You will see a scale replica of all the planets (with correctly scaled radius) in the map view
Hulrum: Blue
Nassau: Gray
Myco Terra: Green
Doon: Orange
Every structure draws a path in the 3D map view.
The direction of the camera in the 3D map is linked to the seat orientation.
So to look around in the map, rotate your seat.
extra notes:
The gravitational force is calculated with F = G*m1*m2/r², only to the closest body so orbits are almost perfect.
I don’t know if it will work in multiplayer because I wasn’t able to test multiplayer.
Difficulty to get to orbit from surface:
Hulrum: Easy
Nassau: Easy
Myco Terra: Medium
Doon: Hard
