Reserved Inventory
Middle-click an item in any grid container (bag, bin, ship/world/ground storage) to reserve its exact footprint — position and orientation — for that item def. The reserved cells refuse every other item so auto-fill, drag and quick-move can no longer stuff junk into the spot you are keeping for your EVA helmet, O2 can, materials, or whatever else.
How to use it
- Middle-click an item in a grid container to reserve its footprint for that item type.
- The reserved rectangle shows a faded ghost of the item plus an outline, so you always see what a spot is being held for.
- The reserved item still comes and goes freely — a reservation never blocks removing the item itself.
- Middle-click the item again (or middle-click the empty reserved rectangle) to clear the reservation.
Notes
- Reservations are bound to the item type, not the specific item — the slot will accept any item of that def, and reject everything else.
- Items auto-inserted into a bag (auto-fill / quick-move) will prioritize their reserved slot — drop a matching item in and it homes to the spot you held for it.
- Reservations persist in the save. 🙂
Configuration (edit the mod’s file in BepInEx/config after first launch)
- Enabled — master on/off switch. When off, reservations are no longer enforced or drawn, but existing reservations are preserved in your saves (toggle back on and they return intact). Default on.
- OutlineColor — color of the outline drawn around reserved slots (hex RRGGBBAA). Default is a muted, half-transparent steel blue.
