Description:

The Dungeon from Terraria, roughly remade in Source, now ported to GMod.

It’s been ages since I last touched this map. I had originally intended to port this when it was made, but I ran into a lot of problems. It was back when I was more hopeful for level-making in Source. Despite numerous tries, I was never able to get it working in GMod until now. This is the 6th attempt at porting this level, and I think I’ve ironed out the process now. The issue seems to have been a mixture of the props not being compiled properly, and the level being compiled with the wrong version of Hammer.

It’s a rather modest two room dungeon foyer, based roughly on the entryway to the Dungeon in Terraria. It features a few detail props, such as a giant door and floor mural. The level is not the greatest thing in the world, but it’s passable for what I used it for.

You can read up on the specifics of the level on the SFM page. I’ll only note the GMod-related things here.

Notes

-A modified version of the props from the Terraria prop pack are used here. They are essentially the same, but I cannot guarentee GMod will not have a model conflict. I didn’t encounter a problem when I was testing, but I’m mentioning it here just in case it comes up.

-The dark hole in the back features a kill region. Anything thrown into the will die on contact. There is nothing down there to explore, I didn’t make anything past that point.

-The mural, sadly, still suffers from the Source-related lighting issue that causes it to not light well with the floor. I still have no solution for this problem.

The "Dungeon" depicted above, is a locale featured in the game "Terraria", and is the intellectual property of "Re-Logic".
