Sea Power Studio — 1.0.0 Beta 1

Sea Power Studio is an external Windows desktop application designed to make managing Sea Power mods safer, clearer, and more accessible.

It combines mod discovery, profiles, load-order management, dependency analysis, conflict detection, semantic INI merging, diagnostics, backups, and loadout editing in a single application.

Important: Sea Power Studio is an external application. It does not run inside Sea Power and should not be activated in the in-game mod list.

MAIN FEATURES

• Automatic detection of Sea Power, Steam libraries, Workshop content, local mods, and the active mod configuration.

• Mod Library with names, authors, versions, origins, thumbnails, activation state, compatibility information, and load order.

• Profiles for preparing different mod combinations without immediately changing the game.

• Dependency analysis covering recursive and transitive dependencies, missing requirements, cycles, incompatibilities, and suggested ordering.

• Conflict detection for identical files, different binary files, duplicate definitions, and semantic INI conflicts.

• Guided merge system with dry-run validation, precedence choices, semantic decisions, provenance information, and managed output packages.

• Integrated Loadout Studio for inspecting and creating loadouts using the base game and the mods that are actually active.

• Installation health checks for malformed INIs, missing references, duplicate entries, invalid mod counts, orphaned entries, and load-order problems.

• Backups, history, rollback, and undo for supported operations.

• Safe local-mod installation from folders or ZIP archives.

• Simple and Advanced modes. New users can avoid unnecessary technical details, while experienced users can inspect hashes, provenance, INI sections, fingerprints, and detailed comparisons.

SAFETY FIRST

Sea Power Studio opens in read-only mode by default.

Operations that modify the effective Sea Power configuration follow a controlled process:

1. Analyze the current state.
2. Prepare a change plan.
3. Show exactly what will change.
4. Request confirmation.
5. Create a backup.
6. Apply the change safely.
7. Validate the result.
8. Confirm the operation or restore the previous state.

Workshop source mods are treated as immutable. Sea Power Studio does not edit original Workshop files when creating merges or loadout patches. Generated content is stored as a separate managed package.

Creating a merge or loadout package does not automatically activate it in the game. You remain in control of when it is added to a profile or applied.

HOW TO INSTALL

1. Subscribe to this Workshop item and wait for Steam to finish downloading it.

2. Open this item’s downloaded folder:

Steamsteamappsworkshopcontent1286220<Workshop Item ID>

3. Run:

Sea-Power-Studio-1.0.0-Beta-1-Setup-x64.exe

4. Alternatively, run Sea Power Studio.exe to use the portable version.

5. Start Sea Power Studio and allow it to detect your Steam installation and mods.

6. Review the installation health summary before enabling editing.

Do not activate Sea Power Studio as a gameplay mod. The Workshop is being used to distribute the external application.

The initial language is selected from the Windows system language and can be changed in the application settings.

COMPATIBILITY

This release was prepared and tested against:

• Sea Power version 0.8.1
• Windows x64
• Steam installations with one or multiple library folders
• Workshop and local Sea Power mods

Mods using unknown or unsupported formats are preserved and reported as partially understood or opaque. Sea Power Studio does not invent semantic support when it cannot safely understand a file.

IMPORTANT BETA NOTICE

This is Sea Power Studio 1.0.0 Beta 1.

The application is currently distributed without a commercial digital signature. Windows SmartScreen may display a warning when the installer or portable executable is opened.

Verify the included SHA-256 checksums before running the application. The SHA256SUMS.txt file is included in the download.

This warning does not mean that Windows detected malware. It means the executable does not yet have an established digitally signed reputation. Only run files downloaded from this official Workshop item.

CURRENT LIMITATIONS

• Sea Power Studio cannot change mods live while Sea Power is running.

• Sea Power must be closed before applying load-order or configuration changes.

• The application does not automatically subscribe to or download other Workshop mods.

• Some future or uncommon mod formats may receive structural diagnostics without full semantic editing.

• Visual editing is currently focused on loadouts. Other content categories receive discovery, conflict analysis, and diagnostics.

• Digital signing is not yet available for this Beta.

REPORTING PROBLEMS

When reporting a problem, please include:

• Sea Power Studio version.
• Sea Power version.
• The operation you attempted.
• The displayed error message.
• Whether Sea Power was running.
• The names of the affected mods.
• The relevant diagnostic or merge report, without personal information.

Please report Beta issues in the Workshop comments. Do not share private paths, usernames, profile exports, or personal files.
