Doorway Pull-Ups
Doorway Pull-Ups adds a simple no-spoiler fitness interaction to Project Zomboid Build 42: open a door, right-click the doorway, and train pull-ups with your survivor.
- Adds a Doorway Pull-Ups right-click menu to open doorways.
- Includes short sets and a Train Until Tired option.
- Uses endurance and plays breath sounds during reps.
- Grants small Strength and Fitness XP.
- Adds arm and occasional back soreness.
- Tracks pull-up regularity, so repeated training becomes smoother over time.
- Factors character body weight into difficulty.
- Includes sandbox settings for server owners.
- Includes English and Simplified Chinese in-game text.
Server owners can tune:
- Time per rep
- Endurance cost
- Overall XP
- Strength XP
- Fitness XP
- Soreness
- Regularity gain and decay
- Bodyweight difficulty
- Maximum Train Until Tired reps
This is an early Build 42 release. The feature is playable, but the animation is still being improved. Doorway alignment, hand placement, and movement polish may change in future updates.
Multiplayer should work in principle, but it has not yet been fully tested on a live server. If you try it in MP, please share your game version, server setup, and any console/log errors so compatibility notes can be improved.
- More animation polish for hand grip and chin-over-frame motion.
- Live-server multiplayer testing and safer server defaults.
- Compatibility checks with Fitness & Workout Overhaul and other popular fitness/context-menu mods.
- Balance tuning against vanilla exercises, including XP, endurance, soreness, and bodyweight difficulty.
- Optional craftable or lootable pull-up equipment, such as an iron-pipe doorway bar, home-gym bar, or power tower.
- Optional sandbox-controlled doorway failure/fall idea, limited to weak doorways if it proves fun and fair.
- More language files if players contribute translations.
Helpful reports include your game version, single-player or multiplayer, the doorway type, screenshots if the animation looks wrong, and any console/log errors.

Future Workshop uploads will use Steam’s Change Notes tab for concise per-update notes. The roadmap below is for planned work; Change Notes are for released updates.
- v0.1.x – Workshop feedback and update notes: Collect bug reports, animation screenshots, multiplayer notes, compatibility questions, balance feedback, and keep Steam Change Notes updated for every upload.
- v0.2.x – Animation polish: Improve doorway alignment, hand placement, and chin-over-frame motion.
- v0.3.x – Multiplayer, compatibility, and balance: Live-server testing, safer context-menu behavior, Fitness & Workout Overhaul checks, and balance tuning against vanilla exercise options.
- v0.4.x – Pull-up equipment: Investigate optional craftable/installable doorframe bars and lootable home-gym equipment such as power towers or pull-up stations.
- v0.5.x – Optional doorway risk: Investigate a rare sandbox-controlled doorway failure/fall event for weak doorways only, with conservative defaults.
- v0.6.x – Small exercise add-ons: Consider more focused exercise interactions after doorway pull-ups are stable.
- v1.0.0 – Stable release: Mark stable when Build 42 behavior, animation, and server settings feel reliable.
- Multiplayer has not yet been fully tested on a live server.
- Fitness & Workout Overhaul compatibility is not confirmed yet.
- Build 41 support is not planned for the first release unless a safe path appears later.
