Overview

This mod adds 3 new animated leaders, personas of existing ones (Frederick Barbarossa, Jadwiga and Montezuma), 2 with new models.

Details

Jadwiga (Scholar) Ability: Restorer of Krakow University – Campuses provide +1 Great Prophet point and are built twice as fast. Theater Squares and Campuses receive Faith equal to their Culture or Science adjacency if constructed next to Holy Sites. Great Scientists have an additional charge. Agenda: Scholasticism – Tries to build up Science, and likes civilizations that also focus on Science, especially if they have founded a Religion. Dislikes civilizations with weak Science, moreso if they haven’t founded a Religion.

Montezuma (Tlacochcalcatl) Ability: Conquest of Oaxaca – All land melee units have a chance to capture City-state and Free City military units by turning them into Builders. Capital and cities within 4 tiles of Capital receive +10% to all yields for every conquered City-state (up to 30%). Agenda: Flowery Wars – Hates city-states. Wants to conquer all of them, and likes those who also attack and conquer city-states. Hates those who try to protect them, especially by declaring Protectorate Wars.

Frederick Barbarossa (Crusader) Ability: Crusader King – Earn a Hochmeister when the game enters a new era. (Hochmeister earned is random) Unique Unit: Hochmeister – A special type of Great Person only available to Frederick Barbarossa (Crusader). All Hochmeisters provide +4 Combat or Religious Strength to all units within 2 tiles, +20 HP healing to all fortified Combat units within 1 tile, and +1 Movement to all Religious units within 2 tiles. Each has a unique Retire effect. Agenda: Crucesignatus – Likes those who join him in Emergencies, especially if they follow same Religion as him. Dislikes those who do not follow same Religion as him.

History

Alongside building numerous schools and churches, Jadwiga restored Krakow University (today Jagiellonian University) after it fell to disrepair after the death of Casimir the Great, using all her jewelry to fund its restoration after pope Boniface VII allowed the establishment of a faculty of theology.
Before becoming tlatoani, Montezuma served as tlacochcalcatl (2nd in command after tlatoani) for his predecessor Itzcoatl and shortly for his brother Tlacaelel.
Frederick Barbarossa served in Second Crusade and was one of the leaders of Third Crusade, though he drowned en route to Holy Land. Although he had no role in founding Teutonic Order, knights and nobles who accompanied him were Order’s founders, and his son and other successors supported and worked with the Order.

Compatibility

Requires Gathering Storm. Poland Pack is required if you want to play with Jadwiga (Scholar).
Pack purely adds things, and does not change any existing content
Compatible with custom maps – leaders use spawns from their other variation
Also compatible with Roman Holiday’s AI
Additional unique ability, units and infrastructure from preview screenshots are from following mods: Sui Generis, Steel and Thunder and Second Unique Infrastructure
Available in Chinese, Japanese (special thanks to Phantagonist!), German and imperfect Polish and Portuguese, partially translated to all other languages.
Jadwiga’s model cannot be edited because minor DLC, NFP and LP leaders cannot be modified.
