[TABS] Object 279
Project 279 (Object 279) was an experimental Soviet heavy tank developed in the late 1950s by the Kirov Plant (Leningrad) under the leadership of designer L. Troyanov, specifically built to survive nuclear warfare and break through heavily fortified enemy lines. It was one of the most unique and extreme armored vehicles in Cold War military history.
