Red Shoes
These familiar red shoes will significantly increase your move speed and give you an interesting health mechanic which allows you to retain hearts, but also makes things more challenging.
If you take damage while having only red hearts, or only soul/black hearts, all but 1 half heart will be dropped on the floor, you can pick them all up again to have not lost any health, but they will despawn if you take too long.
If you have both red and soul/black hearts the extra hearts will act as a shield (soul/black normally, red if you have crows heart) the shield protects you from one attack, but removes all your extra hearts when it is lost.
Due to a few issues (like there not being half black hearts in the game and the games code not having a way to count how many half black hearts you have total) taking damage with no red hearts unfortunately means any black hearts lost will just turn into soul hearts.
The health mechanic of these shoes ignores sacrifice room spikes, curse room doors, spike chests, razors and devil bum deals, it does nothing with the lost or the keeper and it might not work with some modded characters or items which affect how health works.
The length of invincibility by default is about 50% higher than normal, and it can be changed easily by opening the lua file and editing the ‘invincibilityframes’ value.
