Description:

Always on the lookout for Artists to help move the project to the next level! 🙂

Overhauls the wild plant and wild animals of each biome to more closely represent a real world setup for the biomes given the concept of ‘Humans are largely uninvolved in this plants Biosphere’.

From Ice Sheets to Extreme Deserts, life on earth has thrived; so why do those biomes in Rimworld feel so hollow and empty.

Biosphere Core does a few things:
1. It rebalances the Vanilla prey/predator counts on maps to be a more realistic and sustainable count. The ratios presented in core game are 100% unrealistic as there are often entirely too many predators for an ecology to actually thrive; especially on some Biomes.

2. It reworks where each Vanilla animal spawns based on real life data where applicable. Each animal that shows up in your maps now, will be 100% accurate to real life ranges and environmental areas using data going back to the early 1900’s.

3. It adds 4 "new" plants to the wild environment: Devilstrand, Cotton, Hay, and Corn. Corn (and its genetically related cousins such as Maize) is/was an extremely commonly found wild plant before human interaction; as was cotton, and as is hay in quite a few environs.

4. If VGP (+Xtra trees + Extra Veggies) is installed, it adds about 30-40 more plants to the world, from crops, to flowers, to plants, to trees to Vanilla Biomes; both of the fruiting and non-fruiting variety. Nearly every plant from VGP has been added to the game as a wild plant, again, using real scientific data and growth ranges for each plant to ensure accuracy of their spawn area’s.

5. If seeds please + the VGP Bundle is installed, it ensures that the VGP wild plants work properly. I.e. you can harvest the wild VGP Crops, for VGP Seeds, which can then be used for real crops. no seed starts are possible with this arrangement for an extreme variety of choices of how to run the game

Built in Compatibility for the following mods:

  1. Seeds Please!
  2. VGP Vegetable Garden (If using VGP, More Veggies + Xtra Trees and Flowers are required)
  3. AnimalCollabProj
  4. Biome Expansion: Redwood forest
  5. More Vanilla Biomes

If using the above mods, make sure that Biosphere Core is below the mods you are using from that list. If using VGP, it is designed for All of those 3 VGP mods to be used in unison; not independently. Sorry.

If using other mods that add more animals, place the animals AFTER the Biosphere mod to maintain their ability to spawn. If they’re placed before Biosphere, those animals will no longer spawn. If placed after, they will.

Lanilor for assisting this new modder scum with learning some of the intracies of Rimworld Modding.
Credit to Dismar[ludeon.com] Dismar for allowing for the integration and patching of VGP, and help with the c# components of the mod to date.
Dr.Zhivago for obvious coaching, as well as NotFood for the same reason.
Zylle for creating More Vanilla Biomes, and allowing integration.

Lastly, Credit to Rainbeau Flambeau[ludeon.com], many of whose mods helped inspire me to create things in the same vein; especially for the inspiration of the Slider Bar for the options allowing Density customization. Amazing idea, one I have stolen as it is fantastic.
