This mod reskins the Egyptians and Judeans to look more unique from other Hellenic factions, and more accurate to the era of the Imperator Augustus campaign. The native Egyptian units have been improved somewhat as well, and I have also added in a bonus reskin of the Galatian Legionaies for the Galatia faction. I have designed most of the unit’s appearances to fit with the style of the vanilla units as much as possible, but also based on historical sources that I could find. The mod does not add any new units, and is meant for the Imperator Augustus campaign, but also works for the Egyptians (and Cyrenaica) in the Grand Campaign. It also covers all the Egyptian Pretender factions and Egyptian Rebel factions in both the IA and Grand Campaign.

I looked for a lot of sources on how Egypt’s Galatian units would look at this time, and what I found is that they were more Hellenic at this point in history, and for this reason I made the Galatian Swords unit a blend of a Gallic and Greek look. For the Galatian Royal Guards I actually gave them mostly Roman equipment. The reason for this is because after Julius Caesar romanced Cleopatra in Egypt, he left Romanized Galatian Legionaries as a bodyguard for her; prior to this event, there were Roman and Galatian Legionaries in the service of Ptolemy XIII as well. For the Galatian faction, I made the Galatian Legionaries similarly Romanized because by the time of the Imperator Augutus campaign the Legion XXII Deiotariana (named for King Deiotarus of Galatia) had been formed in Galatia, and would soon become an official Roman legion.

I added Veteran Roman Legionaries as a bodyguard option for Egypt in the Imperator Augustus campaign, and they are available for both generals and admirals, and playable in custom battles.

I mainly used vanilla assets for this mod, in order for it to fit as much as possible with vanilla, but I made some custom shields (using vanilla patterns), and I used Benjin’s awesome Ptolemaic helmet that he created for AAA Greeks , which is really fitting for this time period.

The mod also requires the Rome II HD mod(s) Legions of the Imperator and Heroes of Zama OR Legacy of Rome, because the Galatian Royal Guard and Galatian Legionaries units are reskinned in the style of Rome II HD instead of vanilla. The reason for this is because both of those units represent "Imitation Legionaries" that were becoming increasingly Romanized. I also recommend using True Bronze to improve the textures and variety of the armors.

I hope you enjoy the mod, and let me know if you have comments or criticism.

Thank You,
