Description:
This mod lets you change a soldier’s class in the GTS.

Any soldier (excluding Faction Heros, Psi Operatives, and SPARKS) can re-train to a new class in the Guerilla Tactics School. The current rank of the soldier is maintained. This uses the existing Train Rookie slot in the GTS. Rookies still rank-up as normal to Squaddie (or Sergeant if you have Live Fire Training). You can re-train to the same class (e.g. Ranger to Ranger) and re-roll Random Ability Decks.

Overrides can conflict with other, better mods. It’s wise not to subscribe.

Known Issue: The confirmation pop-up dialogue states your soldier will be training to be one rank higher than they actually are. They won’t be. If they are a Captain in their current class, they will become a Captain in their new class. Unfortunately, I cannot seem to overwrite this particular entry in the localization file. See pinned discussion below.

Known Issue: The soldier’s Health, Mobility, Dodge, and Will do not change after training. Aim, Defense, Hack, and Psi will be reset and levelled-up according to the new class. Any +Aim or +Hack bonuses accrued from Covert Ops do not transfer to the new class.

Known Issue: Only Soldier Ability Points earned per promotion will be refunded. If you spent global XCOM AP or had Soldier AP earned from combat, those points will not be refunded. Increase your combat intelligence and re-train for more per-promotion AP.

Thanks to Yiriz for the vanilla version [AWC Respec change class] Complete Respec.

FAQ:

Does this work for custom classes? If you can train a rookie into a custom class in the GTS, then yes it should work for that custom class.

How is this different from the Training Center? The Training Center refunds all Ability Points and allows you to re-train abilities within the current soldier class. They are similar since they both allow picking new class perks. You still need the Training Center to bond-up soldiers and pick AWC abilities.

It’s not working as described. Probably a mod conflict. My sincere apologies for any inconvenience.
