Roster Size Workaround + Base Agents Gain XP
Enables you to get more than 8 people on your roster.
This mod accomplishes that via a hook on OnPreMission that checks if you’ve hit the vanilla roster limit, which you should by the time you start the second investigation.
After that, by default it will let you get one more recruitment opportunity three times before it stops. You can change this via editing the mod’s XComGame.ini.
To pace this out, this is set up so it’s every three missions after you hit the initial limit: this way you don’t get everyobdy in a sudden rush, but get time to pace it out.
But this still leaves the problem of actually earning XP for units, especially with as stacked as Chimera Squad is in having you focus on the one A-team. To compensate for this, the mod will also grant mission XP to all units not on a mission every time you finish a mission. This will help low level agents rank up relatively fast so they have a few abilities available, and make it easier to gain their later ranks since they’ll already have some progress made.
These features are adjustable in the mod’s XComGameData.ini. If you just want the Base Agents Gain XP part, set AdditionalUnits to 0 in the XComGame.ini mentioned before.
Alternatively, you can go to the mod folder (this is in a path like steamappsworkshopcontent8821002073317720), and go to the mod’s XComGameData.ini to alter values like how much XP on-base agents get.
The vanilla UI doesn’t expect more than 8 total available agents, so some things get way harder to assign.
