Flying Dutchman recreation – Efteling
Flying Dutchman is for me the best dark ride I have ridden. Even though it’s mainly a coaster. I’m always impressed by how good the dark ride part is. Add to this the amazing theming of the whole queue line, station platform and outside and you have one great experience.
Because of this I wanted to tackle this as a Planet Coaster recreation. I didn’t expect that it would be such a long and big project but here we are. About 130 hours of work spread over about a year and over 73k ingame pieces.
This recreation is on a 1:1 scale, based on Google Earth. Using billboards to get all the positions correct. (Check my tutorial here: https://youtu.be/OUJ54eS-nII)

Notes and issues
• The shore and height of the pathing is to high, partly because I miss calculated and partly because of the pathing limitations in the game. So you will see that ‘De Kombuys’ food court is way to high compared to the water. Something I noticed way to late in the project and couldn’t fix anymore.
* I had to use an alternative for the lion status because ingame lions are way to big, so I got the pinguins.
