Description:

Hello and welcome to a custom faction overhaul for Marienburg. I created this mod with the intention of bringing some new life to playing as either Marienburg, the Empire, Bretonnia or any other faction for example, mostly due to the fact that Marienburg is not part of the Empire anymore, therefore, they should have different units, techs, buildings, etc.

Currently, and I say this as I am planning on expanding upon this mod eventually with new content as per user feedback, this mod introduces 15 new units, with some being different variants of another as well as 1 LL, named the Sword of Solkan (That’s his name in the lore, didn’t think it up) with two unique items, one unique ability and a custom skill tree line. Two new bulding chains, and two unique landmarks, situated within Marienburg. Furthermore, I have introduced a completely new tech tree to Marienburg of which is in a progressive fashion.

Units and Unit Cards

The unit cards you see below were edited and drawn by myself representing the different types of units I have introduced within the mod, I am hoping that people will enjoy their look as much as I do.

  • Ersatzsolder – Sword militia.
  • Ersatzsolder (Shields) – Sword militia with shields.
  • Spear Ersatzsolder – Spear militia.
  • Spear Ersatszolder (Shields) – Spear militia with shields.
  • Helblitzen – Halberdiers.
  • Burghers – Greatswords.
  • Armbrustschutzen – Crossbowmen.
  • Bergjaeger – Longbowmen.
  • Jaegarkorps – Handgunners.
  • Wargalley Seamen – Duel sword seamen.
  • Kriegsritter – Fast melee cavalry.
  • Kriegsritter (Bows) – Fast cavalry with bows.
  • Raubritter – Armour piercing cavalry with greatswords.
  • Pit Fighter – Witch Elf style gladiators.
  • Chaos Pit Fighter – Chaos style gladiators.

Tech Tree

While I have indeed removed many units and added new ones in to replace them, it is not to say that all Empire units have been removed, many artillery, cavalry and war machines are indeed still in the game, unfortunately I was unable to make a landship so a Steam Tank would have to do. While I have currently introduced many units and removed others from the roster, the rest could come down to you guys, the community, potentially assisting myself in introducing replacements for these Empire units or potentially new ROR’s.

Compatibility

I have attempted to make the mod as compatible as possible, therefore, unless you only want to play this mod within custom battles, it should be compatible with everything else, though I have not tested every mod on the workshop and therefore that is not for certain.

Moreover, if you want to play this mod within the campaign, being its main use, it requires ‘Crynsos’ Faction Unlocker+’, anything that edits the Startpos will therefore NOT be compatible.

F.A.Q

Currently, since the mod has just been released, I’m not sure what questions could be asked, but I’ll give a go and what I believe will be asked. Will add to over time.

Q: Building showing construction icon but not able to build more:
A: It seems to be a visual bug as it does not inform you that a new building requires upgrading in the settlement screen, will attempt to fix as soon as I can.

Q: Right name not appearing on selection screen:
A: This was done intentionally to keep the mod as compatible as possible with others that change the Marienburg starting lord.

Q: Victory Conditions:
A: This will take some time and I’m not sure it will come to fruition, though only time will tell.

Q: Clipping issues:
A: It is indeed true that clipping might occur on some units, though it is unavoidable really, for myself anyways, creating new units is tedious with what you have to work with and therefore unfortunately some clipping might occur, hopefully it is not too noticeable however, during my test campaign, I hardly noticed much.

Regiments of Renown

While I currently have not created any Marienburg specific ROR’s, of which could potentially happen in the near future, I have created a few ROR’s for the Empire previously, including but not limited to the Carroburg Greatswords, Teutogen Guard and the Deathjacks, they have been added into the Marienburg campaign and should recruit just fine from their respective buildings, however, if you do not see them within custom battle for Marienburg, fear not, that’s normal, they will appear within the campaign. Feel free to use that mod either individually here or within a compilation with other ROR’s of which I created here.
