Are you tired of the lack of flavor in Crusader Kings 3?

Are you tired of having the majority of rulers be titled "King", even though that word doesn’t exist in their respective languages?

Are you tired, exhausted, dare I say spent with regards to the amount of modern historiographical terms applied to a supposed simulator of medieval times?

…No?

Well I sure as ♥♥♥♥ am!

Introducing Immersive Names.
The aim of this mod is simple: to transform as many titles (for realms, characters, etc.) into contemporary, culture-specific variants for the sake of making the world feel richer, more immersive and less monotone. Let’s take a look at an example…

Here we have Carlo, a Duke in the Holy Roman Empire.

  • Carlo is Italian (Italiano), and as such is not a Duke but a Duca, and his realm is not a Duchy but a Ducato.
  • His liege lord is a mighty Emperor of a central Germanic culture, and as such he is styled Kaiser. He rules not the "Holy Roman Empire" – what’s 21st century English doing with a Franconian from 1066 AD? – but the Heiliges Römisches Reich.
  • Were Carlo to become king of Italy, he’d be the Re of the Regno of Italia. Were he to take a step further and seize the imperial throne, he’d be the Imperatore of the Sacro Romano Impero.

I’d like to point out that I’m by no means an expert in this field, so translation quality and accuracy may vary. I’ve relied on a mix of medieval dictionaries, modern translations and some guessing to fill in the blanks.
Also, this mod has yet to reach its final form and will be regularly updated.

If you have any suggestions, questions, or find any bugs, please don’t hesitate to leave a comment down below. Thank you.

P. S. The date selection screen tends to show default, non-flavorized titles. This can safely be ignored.
P. S. S. As has been mentioned in the comments this mod is not ironman compatible even though it only changes cosmetic things and has no impact on gameplay but, such is life.
