[WOTC] Consequences of Capture
neIVIesis asked me to make a mod that adds consequences when soldiers get captured.. so here it is!
In vanilla, when soldiers get rescued, they just come back to the squad as if nothing ever happened.
With this mod, rescued soldiers won’t come back as fresh as a watermelon anymore. Captivity is supposed to be a traumatic experience and this mod tries to reflect that by adding three consequences to captured soldiers.
Will Consequence
- Soldiers have a chance to get Shaken during captivity (50% by default)
- If the roll for Shaken fails, soldiers will be guaranteed to return Tired
Fear Consequence
- Soldiers have a chance to get a random Fear Trait during captivity (50% by default)
- If captured by a Chosen, "Fear of Chosen" will be prioritized
Gear Consequence
- Soldiers have a chance to lose all their unique gear during captivity (100% by default)

You can alter the chance for each consequence to happen and add/remove any trait from the list of possible fears.
I recommend the following mods:
This mod changes the GiveReward functions of two mission Reward Templates:
- Reward_SoldierCaptured
- Reward_ChosenSoldierCaptured
The mod is compatible with any mod that doesn’t alter the same functions.
It is safe to add/remove mid campaign.
