Description:

Hello There!

Please Note: You must have Gladius+ subscribed/installed in order to use this mod. In your mod order in game this mod must come AFTER Gladius+ and I have included a screenshot above to show you how to do that if you aren’t familiar. After changing the mod load order you must restart the game for the changes to take effect.

This is my mod for unofficial unit scaling applied to the Gladius+ Mod. Absolutely all credit goes to the creators Tof, Qai, and Snowflake of Gladius Plus! None of the Gladius Plus work is mine and this mod is only used to modify Gladius Plus. This mod will not interfere with any Gladius Plus updates but it will allow you to maintain the scaling changes I have made even if Gladius Plus is updated. It is probably not compatible with any other mod that isn’t compatible with Gladius Plus. It does not make any gameplay changes.

Now, on to the mod! I love Gladius Plus, they did amazing work on it to make everything beautiful and tabletop proportions, I don’t think I could go back to playing regular Gladius without their additional textures and work! However, for me, sometimes the tabletop proportions get in the way of actually playing the game and I decided that there were a few tweaks I would enjoy. The main things that this mod changes are:

Aircraft Sizes and Heights – I have adjusted aircraft to have sizes roughly based on the classification of aircraft, whether it is a fighter, transport, or bomber. I have also adjusted the heights to more closely resemble "close air support" instead of "high altitude bombing" like in Gladius Plus. I have mostly maintained the proportions as done by Qai but I have made fighters slightly smaller, transports medium, and bombers large. All three classes have been reduced from their Gladius Plus size allowing you to click on the model easier and tell what hex the model is in with great ease.

Building Sizes – I have adjusted plopable structures to not cover other hexes as much, such as the Aquila Macro Cannon and the Gauss Pylon. This takes them out of spec from the tabletop proportions but makes it easier to see what units are around them as well as click on them and not have them take up so many tiles. I have left other things such as bastions, fortresses, and cities the same size.

Vehicle Sizes – I have adjusted tanks and other vehicles to not hang over into other hexes as much and then scaled other vehicles accordingly so that the rough proportions as done by Qai are maintained. I think it looks nicer and it makes it easier when lots of units are bundled up next to each other to avoid some of the clipping and still look nice. Additionally I have adjusted height positionings to account for a little different hover and things to avoid other clipping and to make things look a little nicer.

Infantry – I haven’t changed much infantry except for tyranids and drones to bring things more in line with the other adjustments, most of the infantry was pretty spot on. I have however made some tyranids larger and adjusted a few things here and there for continuity sake.

This mod can be used in conjunction with or separately from my terrain scaling adjustment mod.

Thanks for looking! I’ll keep updating things as I make some final adjustments but overall I think this makes things easier from a functionality standpoint while trying to maintain the spirit of the tabletop proportions that Qai created!
