Description:

Currently only the following races have been worked on: Space Marines, Tyranids, Necrons

This mod intends to balance the different factions for a competitive enviroment, it is currently a work in process that will take long to be completed as it is an enormous and extremely difficult task. I hope to be able to achieve a version of the game in which every single faction, upgrade and unit are useful although I know that it is almost impossible.

I originally made this in order to play with a friend of mine but I thought that I would upload it here in case that anyone is interested. Currently I have mostly only worked on Tyranids, Necrons and Space Marines, which is why I heavily do not recommend to play with the rest of factions while using this mod until I manage to balance the rest of the factions as well.

The testing necesary for balancing has been done in 1v1 games with standard settings (every setting was set to medium).

Thank you all for your feedback in case that you play it and I will be glad to test this mod with other people if you are interested.

Special thanks to my collaborator "NARC" who has been helping me with testing and who has added to the mod some flavour in the form of new names for AIs, cities, regions, titles and specially a ton of new barks so that the game feels more inmersive.

Here is a general summary of some of the changes:

– Units which underperform in the base game are obviously better here, same with upgrades and factions as a whole.
– Outposts that were significantly worse than others have been improved, this should reduce rng and provide more viable alternatives.
– Heroes can only have up to 3 items each.
– Items cost less.
– Duplicated heroes only cost 30% more instead of 100% in order to make it a bit more viable to have 2 of each.
– Heroes take longer to produce.
– Bases are twice as expensive but have more weapons in order to allow more options aside from rushing 3 bases and so that cheesing in 1v1s doesn’t feel quite as powerful (only the ones that were on the weak side received a dps increase).
– You can now build city builders straight away without the need for research, this is mostly done in order to take out the necessity to start with a research opening and to rush these upgrades, therefore creating more choices for openings and starting upgrades early on.
– Orbital relays and similar are cheaper now and the upgrades that increase pop growth increase it by 100%, this is to offer an additional viable eco choice.
– Space marines have a way of matching other factions better in the late game with the use of half cooldown towers of redemption with a new upgrade at tier 5, straight access to orbital relays and a new base upgrade that increases pop growth at their city so they can use orbital relays more effectively.
– Hero abilities are way more balanced, damage ones have been increased a lot while ones that add resources have been decreased a lot.
– Upgrades have been moved between tiers, some have been reworked to be more useful and a few new ones have been included.
– Research has been increased by 50% so that you can access late game units even in a 1v1 enviroment, making it a viable choice to tech up even on small maps.
– Units that were late on the tech tree have been made more accesible through the changes to research but they are also weaker to compensate and to make it viable to use some low tier units even later in the game, improving the variety of strategies.
– Units with a low cost have a significantly lower upkeep.
– Tyranids have received a rework to their synapse, it will now reduce they damage done and increase their damage taken while they are out of synapse instead of losing morale. Synapse has been increased to range 2.
– Tyranids have access to capillary towers (using the model of tunnels) which are spawned anywhere on the map from an ability that has been given to tyranid cities, these towers will be the ones that consume tiles instead of malanthropes.
