Famous Battle Sites Unlimited!
Updated 16 Jan 2021 for The Asrai Resurgent. Go crazy. ALSO this doesn’t really need updating as it only edits a couple small lines in the data table, therefore it is safe to use even when it says ‘out of date.’
This is the most current version of my Battle Site / Raise Dead / Grave mod, more compatible and updated consistently.
In Vanilla, there is a cap on battle sites that causes them to stop spawning at a certain point. If you fight your most epic, bloody battle after the cap has been reached, there would be no marker on the campaign map to commemorate it. This is simply no fun for most players, but as a Vampire player, this is worse than no fun! It can seriously hurt your campaign and ability to replenish units at a crucial time.
This mod effectively removes the cap by raising "famous battle sites maximum allowed" to 999. There is also a small but significant change from the original version of my mod: the "minimum units" and "minimum forces" have each been set to 1. This means that it does not matter how many units are in each army (including reinforcing armies) in order for a battle to be considered "famous" – all that matters is that 2150 bodies hit the floor, which is the number unchanged from Vanilla. Just because some random lord with a couple straggling units was pulled in to reinforce, does not make the clash between multiple large armies any less "famous." In my opinion this was an unintentional downfall of CA’s parameters. I mitigate that in my mod.
This can unfortunately be cheesed by Vampire players who may fill an army with high body count cheap zombie units and send them to die, in order to create a famous battle site from which more valuable units can be recruited. Just don’t do it if you don’t like cheese. There is plenty of cheese in the Vanilla game already. On your honor, ladies and gentlemen.
