B.A.M. : Better Arrows Mod
Are you tired of your archers getting one volley off before they get charged by hoplites? Do you hate that your archers can only shoot a foot in front of their faces? Do you want arrow clouds to block the sun more than anything? Do you wish to fight in the shade? The solution, the Better Arrows Mod, or B.A.M. for short.
B.A.M. is a mod for Total War: Rome II that aims to increase the usefulness & diversity of archers in the game by tweaking arrow ranges, velocities, damages, ect into a more immersive and realistic level. THIS MOD DOES NOT CREATE OVER POWERED ARCHERS.
In TW Rome II, there are 4 bows with corresponding arrows used. In the vanilla game, there are not any real differences between them, but in B.A.M., there are. Each bow will be slightly more different, as they were in real life. This includes the Shortbow, Recurve, Longbow, and Composite bow.(Specific stats will not be shown at the current time as they are still going through major changes.
Broadhead Arrows: Leaf shaped arrows with a wide cutting edge to cause maximum tissue damage on unarmored units. Creates the iconic arrow cloud, compared to the insanely accurate arrow stream from the vanilla game.
Hardened Steel Arrow: Designed to penetrate armor, these hardened steel arrows did less damage to unarmored infantry but with greatly incresed armor penetration all due to the more narrow and simple point.
Whistling Shot: An arching screaming haze that does little damage due to replacing the arrowhead with a whistling point, but wrecks the morale, charge, and melee attack of any and all units it passes over.
Flaming Shot: Flaming arrows do less damage on impact, but weakens morale a little less than whistling arrows.
Poison Arrows Broadheads dipped in a lethal poison. Used by a limited number of units.
Oh, and did I mention that archers now fire a high arching shot to rain death or a horizontal barrage depending archer? Well i did now.

+Ballance the "big four" to both usable and real levels.This includes fixing horse archers.(Arrow spread, Reload Time, Damage, Range)
+Redistribute the new bows.
+Implement multiple new and unique arrow choices.
+Change archer purchace and upkeep costs.
+Continue tweaking the db files.
+Change ammunition sizes
+MAYBE add custom arrow models.
+Make archers shoot in better volleys.
+Fix archers wanting to shoot over the unit’s head.
+Reduce arc for cav archers.
+ Fix arrow penetration.
+Distribute Special arrows to units.
+Try to make arrows punch through lighter shields.
Q: Does this mod also change cav.?
A: Yes indeed. All archers on horseback have there own new and individual stats.
Q:Does the AI also benefit from this mod?
A:Yep, all AI units have the same changes as the player.
Q:Does this mod apply to other mods that add new units?
A:B.A.M. workes with any unit packs.
V1.7 Fixed the hardened arrows not firing.
V1.6 Made Hardened steel arrows more AP specialized. Intrroduced poison arrows. Other fixes.
V1.5 Archer’s Damage reworked. Cav archers are less terrible.Framework for more compatability and huge changes including changing the archers themselves. Many other minor tweaks.
V1.4 Archers now aim in a more logical way. ARCS EVERYWHERE. Horse archers fire in a straight line because REALISM. Sheilds are slightly less op against archers. Lastly, I FINALY fixed overshooting, enjoy!
V1.3 Could not find a universal name for AP arrows, renamed them to a more genaric arrow. Fixed some accuracy issues. Rebalenced arrow damages to a more realistic level. Hopefully resolved some overshooting, will cross it off unless it reappears.
V1.2 Basically reworked the mod from the ground up. Changed most, if not all data. Replaced "standard" arrows with Broadhead points, and "heavy" with Hardened Steel points. Made cav slightly less terriable.(It was so bad it was immersion breaking). Changed ranges to be on par with historical records and modern day recreations, ect.
V1.11 UPDATE to Rome II-Emperor Edition
V 1.1 SLIGHTLY reduced all ranges, made cav archers slightly more accurate, slightly fixed the "archers don’t aim where they shoot" problem. Various other tweaks.
V 1.0 Release WIP
