Kasino
Finnish Association of Architects, SAFA’s summer recreational area main building, Kasino. Built in 1939 and designed by Architect Hugo Harmia. With its clear shiplike lines and seamles wood finish, it is a pristine example of pre war functionalist architecture.
The building originally served as a staffed hotel with a restaurant in the first floor. There are 10 rooms and 1 suite in the second floor with very little space in them. In the spirit of the time you were supposed to be out and about relaxing in the nature not loitering in the rooms so space was limited. Another reason might have been that the Association tried to fit as much in to it as possible being short on money. Currently the building is rented out for celebrations and accomodation with SAFA holding their own members events for the student wing and the area’s summer residents.
Comes in 2 versions as a Hotel and a University.
Due to the nature of the building as a gathering of scholars I felt like the building serves an educational purpose.
Requires 5 workers and 5 professors
or
4 workers as a hotel.
