Description:

Chisinau State Circus
Originally built in 1981, the Chisinau State Circus in Moldova was once a state of the art entertainment venue. It had a capacity of 1900 seats and the ring was over 40 feet across. It was the largest auditorium in Georgia and welcomed artists from around the world, at it’s peak it held 57 concerts in the space of one year.
Moldovan independance brought about rapid inflation and an economic crisis and is still the poorest country in Europe, although the economy is slowly growing. The circus was abandoned in 2004 and lay empty for a decade before the beginning of a restoration project funded by the Ministry of Culture.
Today there is a smaller venue inside with capacity for 300 people which features shows including clowns, gymnasts, acrobats and exotic animals in a classic circus style.

Works as a cinema for up to 300 people.
