Description:

Give the Warhammer universes resident Lizard Wizard the continent-lifting magical powers that he deserves with this complete overhaul of Lord Mazdamundi’s spell tree.

Mazdamundi is by far one of the most powerful mages in the Warhammer universe, yet it’s probably fair to say that CA didn’t do him a lot of justice in the game. He only has six spells and some of them are quite underwhelming. This mod changes that by completely overhauling Mazdamundi’s spellcasting experience. He now has a much expanded arsenal of twelve spells that are significantly more powerful in his froggy hands than when cast by other characters. He also has access to a unique ability, Great Rumination, which allows him temporary access to a vast pool of winds of magic at the cost of leaving himself completely vulnerable and exposed to the enemy.

Twelve spells available to Lord Mazdamundi: Apotheosis, Arcane Unforging, Comet of Casandora, Earth Blood, Shield of Thorns, Harmonic Convergence, Soul Quench, Tempest, Piercing Bolts of Burning, Curse of the Midnight Wind, Urannon’s Thunderbolt, and Blessing of Sotek [new!]

All spells are significantly buffed when Mazdamundi casts them. This does not affect the balance of these spells when cast by other lords and mage heroes!

A new, unique ability named Great Rumination that allows Mazdamundi to temporarily enter a trance with access to a vast Winds of Magic reserve and an enhanced recharge rate. Be careful however, as the trance prevents him from moving and lowers his armour significantly whilst the ability is in effect.

A more powerful Venerated trait for Mazdamundi which improves his winds of magic power reserves and spell recharge rate.

This mod should be compatible with SFO and Radious, as well as any other mod, as long as they don’t make significant changes to lores of magic and the magical branch of Mazdamundi’s skill tree.

It is NOT savegame compatible!

For modders, the only table that I’m using a ‘hard’ copy of is special_ability_groups_to_unit_abilities_junctions_tables. I’m fairly certain this is necessary to achieve the mod’s objectives but I’m always interested in ways to improve compatibility.

This mod does not work in co-operation with my other standalone spell overhauls. Please visit my compilation overhaul if you’d like to use a general spell overhaul that includes other legendary lord’s as well as Mazdamundi. If you want to use more than one of my spell overhauls, please use the compilation otherwise it will not be compatible!
