BM Empire Regional Recruitment – Region Locked
As any Empire faction you and the AI can recruit State Troops of Empire Factions if you control the associated region and have the appropriate buildings built in any province of that region.
- Made it so variants are locked solely by region instead of province as it was forcing players to build certain buildings in the capitals.
- With the help of FortheEmperor and xoudad, was able to fix the need for variants to have different unit costs! This is exciting as it has been evading me as to how to resolve this since I began creating unit variants.
- Lord abilities now effect all variants correctly.
- As any Empire Faction you and the AI are provided with the ability to recruit Empire State Troops that match the uniforms of Altdorf, Averland, Hochland, Marienburg, Middenheim, Middenland, Nordland, Nuln, Ostermark, Ostland, Reikland, Stirland, Talabecland, Wissenland once you control the associated region and build the appropriate building(s) within that region to create the vanilla unit. To confirm this the building in that region or province will list the unit as one of the units you can recruit.
- You will now have 15 Colour Options for Crossbowmen, Halberdiers, Handgunners, Spearmen, Spearmen with Shields, Swordsmen and Greatswords for a total of 105 units of which 98 are new Colour Variants and 7 are the default ones for that Empire Faction.
- Each Colour Variant has their own UI with matching colour and unit card to make it easier to know who you are recruiting.
- All variants are available for use in multiplayer by any Empire Faction
- I have scripted it in so all Empire Faction will start with their Faction Variant Units instead of Vanilla, excluding some for Nordland as the script order between Crynsos and Mine conflicts in removing and adding units.
- Save Game Compatible, but once you use this mod you cannot remove it unless there are no Empire factions with these units.
- As long as none of the mods you have alter the base building names that the Empire State Troops are recruited from, this mod should be compatible with no issues.
This mod is a variant of my other mod “BM All Empire State Troop Colours Unlocked” based on feedback received and the discussion I was seeing on other mods about making Units only accessible based on a particular region or province, so I decided to do some digging and make that happen. In addition, I was asked if my prior mod could be expanded to be used with any Empire Faction with Crynsos Faction unlocker, so this mod allows for that as well.
With that said above, what this mod does at this time is allow you to recruit State Troops that are from different Empire Factions as long as you control a part of the region those State Troops are from and build the appropriate building(s) within that region to build the vanilla unit. Therefore, once you have controlled the province or region and the appropriate building(s), you can recruit them locally in that region and globally anywhere.
- [Minor Difficulty Increase] As all the State Troops from each State technically count as different units, you cannot merge them together after battles. This will technically make the game more difficult so plan accordingly.
- [Minor Difficulty Increase] To build a unique State Troop you must own a part of the region and you must have the appropriate building built in that region for the unit to be available. Because of this, it may force you to have certain buildings in certain regions, limiting your overall amount of building options for a region. Therefore, you will have to plan the buildings that you choose to create more strategically if you want access to all the unique State Troops.
Want to thank Crynsos for making a slight modification for me to his Faction Unlocker so only Empire Factions were included and not some of The Southern Realms. Also, his Faction Unlocker implementation is the only way I was able to have units locked based on regions, so thanks a lot for making it possible for me to make this mod work as intended!
