Description:

Are you tired of fighting plain spearmen, levies, javelinmen and hermiolias? Then this is a mod for you
WORKING WITH LATEST PATCH AND HEAVILY PLAYTESTED!!
!!!IMPORTANT !!!
VERSIONS 1&2 DIFFERENCE..
This version is a generic version for greater compatibility. It includes all VANILLA units.
WHAT THIS MOD DOES..
In this game even if the AI manages to build tier 4 barracks in most cases continues to recruit plain level 1 units. So from one hand you fight the same enemies again and again and on the other the "stronger" Nations dont benefit from their elite arsenal and get whipped from smaller nations from time to time.I tried to force AI to recruit elite units in its armies in a balanced and historical way.So now hopefully you will fight a mix of lighter and elite uints. The percentage of elites in the armies is so that not entire elite armies should exist. Also the character of each nation was under consideration so that for example Rome recruits more swords ,Steppe more horses, Hellenistic armies mor spear and pike units etc. Also navies will use lighter ships for harrashment and bigger for the main fighting..Finally i tried to hinder greatly or stop completely the ability of some tribes (african, some barbarians, steppe etc) to recruit artilery units..
IN THE PICS
you see two different campaigns and this is just 7-10 turns from beggining. Before the mod was applied at Athens there were only 4 hoplites and the rest were lighter troops. After there are more troops and more hoplites (7).Next there are 2 different pics of same civ (Sardes) at the same game turn (arround 50).You see at first Ai makes an army full of citizen hoplites and slingers. Now you have an army composed of thorax pikes (5) a plain pike 2 light horses and very fewer slings and javs.Next there is a Lybian Army an Epirus army composed of a ballanced mix of melee and spear units and Finaly you see a Macedonian army compesed of 2 hoplites 4 units of pikes and only one citizen hoplite. The ranged infantry is equaly divides between slings and javs 3 each. This is a historical composition were hoplites were used at the 2 flanks and missile (sling and archers vs javelins) was 50-50 or 70-30 in favor of the javelins.Of corse and there are nations heavily dependent on ranged units like Persia,Parthia some Iberians,Illirians,Thracians etc as they were historically.
RECOMENDATIONS
I STRONGLY recoment AI budget mod of bombenlejher (http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=254915349&searchtext=) that alters money spent by AI in favor of better army and buildings construction. These two mods help each other for better gameplay.
CONS
This is compatible with every other mod probably BUT mods that add units the AI cannot "see" the new units in order to recruit them.It will continue to recruit from the vanilla pool. You of course can recruit anything no problem there and you can add whatever unit you want to your faction that you are playing.ets say for example that you play as Sparta and add a new Spartan unit. You can recruit it with no problem but if you add also a unit for Rome that is controlled by the AI then the AI will not choose this unit to recruit it.
Also for our impatient friends i must note that in order AI to recruit elite troops it should build first 3-4 tier barracks..If this happens then the armies will have completely different composition than with low tier buildings. For example With barracks 1-2 level the ratio of elite vs regular troops or melle vs ranged may be 50-50.(it is logical as with low quality troops they tend to fight from afar). When 3-4 level barracks is built then the armies composed much more with melee and elite units that before..I am trying to heavily (in my limited time) to play-test and keep taking pics.

Thanks to all who bother to rate..It is a kind of vanity from my behalf but i cant help feel a little bit happy to see that you like my work.Cheers,
