Description:
MV Dona Paz

The MV Dona Paz, a smaller 2,324 GRT passenger vessel built for ferrying passengers from one island to another, collided and sank with the MV Vector on the night of December 20th, 1987. The collision between the two ships sparked an explosion on the MV Vector , causing gas and oil to spill into the oceans surrounding the MV Dona Paz. Fire spread throughout the passenger vessel, and within a few minutes the entire ship was engulfed in flames. The ship was designed to carry 1,586, however reports show that due to Christmas travel the ship was carrying roughly 4,331 passengers. Out of everyone onboard, there were 25 survivors aboard the Dona Paz, and the MV Vector lost 11 of the 13 men onboard. It remains the deadliest peacetime maritime disaster of all time.

Details

-This ship spawns at the custom oil rig base. Even though she is small, she is laggy.
-This ship does not have a scuttle button, however she has four scuttle hatches in the lower portion of the ship to be open/closed manually. She can also be sunk in deep sea waves with relative ease.
-All of the life rafts shown above the ship do NOT hold people properly. This is purposeful, as the actual ship likely had barely-functional life-rafts at the time of her sinking.
-This ship is still a work in progress. If you would like to see anything out of this, please let me know.

Please Read

Out of all of my ships I have released, I’ve never contemplated this much about releasing a ship and not releasing a ship. I had started this project before the announcement of the fire update. So, the one thing I ask out of you, the people, is to please respect the lives lost that day. With the loss of over 4,000 people, worse than that of 9/11, it is the very least I can ask. Thank you for reading this.
