ZILЗИЛ 157

Another old soviet truck – ZIL 157 in my collection of realistic vehicles. This replica is as realistic, as it could be done in stormw.
Some specs:
– Max power 109 HP
– Top speed 65 km/h
– Fuel capacity 210 L

Features:
– Realistic engine power curve and gear ratios
– Transmission simulation
– Accurate cockpit interior
– Fully functional controls
– Working windscreen wipers
– Rotating drive shafts
– Same as original construction in terms of drivetran elements location and functionality
– Realistacally low power, bad handling and braking, and suspension behavior
How to start and drive:
– Get in
– Turn ignition/starter key
– UP/DOWN controls current gear
– W/S controls throttle/braking
– Switch in to 1st gear
– Press and hold W to accelerate, automatic clutch will do the job
– Switch gears as engine rpm builds up
– You`re breathtaking

Hints:
– The most torque in range 1100 to 1500 rpm
– You can build up rpm on neutral (0) gear and then switch into 1st gear to make a burning start (not really). Could be useful to start driving uphill
– You can use arrows to switch gears, but for more realistic experience try to use lever.
– Driving with front axle means lower power due to torque loss in transmission
– Use transfer gearbox gear 1 to tow heavy things
– Heater works only if engine temp is more than 20 dergees
– Winch powered by engine, so keep revs higher to make it work. If you don`t need the truck to turn wheels while you operating winch, set transfer box to neutral (0).
This is the base model without any payload, and there are dozens of things you can place on your ZIL, so I`ll do few versions of it. And all of them will be perfectly realistic.
You can use it as the basement for your own creation but please mention me as co-creator.
Have fun!
