SS Belgenlus
Based loosely off of the SS Belgenland of the Red Star Line.
IMPORTANT: requires some modified meshes, done by pjschloth here- https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2171585660
Instructions on where to put them are on his page. If you dont want to add these into your Stormworks game then thats fine, the ship ‘should’ work just fine without them but be aware all of the custom meshes will be missing.
THIS SHIP WILL LAG EVEN THE MOST POWERFUL COMPUTERS!
Sorry but Stormworks just does not like large ships, especially not this detailed. If the lag bothers you then, respectfully, you can choose to frequent the many other talented Stormworks builders who have less laggy ships.
This ship also comes with the same simulated crew members as my last few ships. To utilize them use the Chart in the Chart room(behind the wheelhouse) to map multiple waypoints. To make a waypoint just click on the map were you want to go, to delete just click it again. You can have as many waypoints as you want just keep into consideration the turning capabilities of the vessel and try to make the waypoints atleast 250m apart from each other to avoid difficulties. Once you have mapped where you want to go click the "Call Bridge" button next to the map and a simulated Helmsman will take control of the ship and automatically navigate through each of your waypoints! Bear in mind the engine telegraphs still need to be operated by you.
This ship features 4 usable lifeboats, 2 in the front and 2 in the rear. To use lower the falls until the automatically connect to the lifeboat, raise it up somewhat and swing it over the side, then lower to the water. Use the button on the davit itself or inside the lifeboat to release the falls.
Scuttle button is located in the chart room, be sure to be in plenty deep water if your gonna use it or you’ll hit the seabed before your full under and bob in the water for a while.
