VC Dark Infusions – Unit Upgrades for Vampire Counts
Hi guys!!
So this is my attempt at bringing the scrap upgrade mechanic to Vampire Counts, which makes a lot of thematic sense to me. The undead are hardly uniform and a necromancer should be able to modify his creations however he wishes.
This mod uses both dark magic and blood kisses as currency to upgrade units. Non-Vampiric units will use purely dark magic to upgrade, while vampiric units use blood kisses.
Every non-hero/lord unit in the roster has 3 upgrades, none of which are currently barred behind technology. I may change this in the future, depending on whether I introduce unique upgrades for factions, which I am very tempted to.
The current units upgraded with dark magic: (RORs have the same upgrades as vanilla units)
Infantry:
Skeleton Warriors: +15 armour, +5 bonus vs infantry, +10 leadership
Skeleton Spearmen: +15 armour, +5 bonus vs large, +10 leadership
Zombies: +15 armour, perfect vigour, +6 base damage
Grave Guard: +30 armour, +10 bonus vs infantry, +10 leadership
Grave Guard with GW: +30 armour, +10 bonus vs large, +10 leadership
Crypt Ghouls: +15 physical resistance, +15 armour, +20% melee damage
Cairn Wraiths: +frost attacks, +20% melee damage, +10 leadership
Cavalry:
Black Knights: +20 charge bonus & 15% speed, +10 bonus vs infantry, +10 leadership
Black Knights with Lances: +20 charge bonus & 15% speed, +30 armour, +10 leadership
Hexwraiths: +frost attacks, +20% melee damage, +10 leadership
Monsters:
Crypt Horrors: +15 physical resistance, +30 armour, +20% melee damage
Fell Bats: +15 physical resistance, +10 leadership, +6 base damage
Dire Wolves: +15 armour, +6 base damage, +poison attacks
Terrorgheist: +30 armour, +20% melee damage, +10 leadership
Vehicles:
Corpse Carts: +poison attacks, +15 armour, +10 leadership
Mortis Engines: +frost attacks, +30 armour, +10 leadership
Black Coach: +30 armour, +frost attacks, +10 leadership
All the below units are vampiric and are upgraded with blood kisses.
Vargheists: +15 physical resistance & 20% speed, +20% melee damage & sundering attacks, +20 charge bonus & the hunger ability
Varghulf: +15 physical resistance & 20% speed, +20% melee damage & sundering attacks, +20 charge bonus & the hunger ability
Blood Knights: +15 physical resistance & 20% speed, +20% melee damage & sundering attacks, +20 charge bonus & the hunger ability
If anyone has any thematic suggestions for new unit upgrades let me know!
This mod should be compatible with most things, although I am not sure whether it is save game compatible.
