Disclaimer
This ship is meant to be used for MP, there is minimum interior detail due to keeping FPS at a decent rate. I will upload an UHQ version with full interior detailing when I have the chance to do so with different firepower and role (ASW, escort, etc etc).

Background

The Patrullera de Altura P-101 "Infanta Sofia" is the first unit of the P-100 series meant to replace the Serviola Class OPV. The Infanta Sofia Class offers significant firepower over other OPV while staying close to frigate levels of firepower.

Armament

The P-101 has substantial firepower not seen before in any Spanish OPV. They will be detailed and explained for their respective use and handling.

Santa Bárbara Sistemas 76/62 76mm Deck Gun

The SBS 76/62 76mm Deck Gun is a multipurpose deck gun utilized for low flying aircraft and other vessels at range with an effective range between 2km-4km. It has a 20 round first stage magazine with an automatic reload. It is controlled by the Navantia DORNA Fire Control Radar located on top of the bridge.

Navantia Sistema de Control de Tiro DORNA

The DORNA FCS is the main guidance for the deck gun, it is controlled by the weapons officer (left seat from the helm). It has the ability to rotate and elevate the DORNA as well as lock and automatically engage targets. For this, there is an instrument panel located at the left side of the screen with flip switches to control the DORNA camera feed, radar lock and automatic cannon track. The DORNA is controlled by the arrow keys with FOV controlled by W/S. In order to lock on a target, the DORNA must have a clear LOS between the antenna and the target, DORNA radar must be turned on and the lock will initiate. In order to engage the target, the flip switch activating the SBS 76/62 must be turned on and the gun will now track and do the ballistic calculation for accurate shots. Indicators at the ceiling will indicate when there is a target lock and when the gun is engaging the target.

Santa Bárbara Sistemas 25 x 137 25mm Auto Cannon

The SBS 25 x 137 25mm AC is a multipurpose auto cannon that can be manually or remote controlled. It has the ability to take down immediate threats at close range and low, slow flying aircraft such as helicopters. In order to operate it, the operator must be either inside the CIC room or at the handles. When in manual control, the gun is controlled by mouse aim. When in remote control, the gun is controlled from a seat with WASD keys, a camera feed and Up/Down keys for FOV control. It has automatic movemement compensation when the FOV increases to make small adjustments at range.

FABA Sistemas – Sistema de Defensa a Punto Meroka CIWS

The P-101 is the first Spanish OPV to have the Meroka serviced. It is a 2 barreled (irl it is 12 but there was no way to make that happen in SW) CIWS with a high ROF and accurate tracking. The Meroka is remotely controled from the CIC room.

Startup Procedure

There is really no startup procedure. When entering the bridge, the CSO, Captain and NO seats will be seen. To the left side of the helm we have deflector control and to the right side engine control.

Deflector Control, Steering and Speed Limitations

The patroller is powered by three water jets with an active stabilization system. Thanks to this, the ship can achieve high manuverability. Here I will leave a handbook with the recommended deflector position, and steering procedures to maximize the efficency of this ship:

Deflectors position (-0.2-0.70)

  • -0.2 – -0.1: Reverse position
  • 0.0: Neutral position
  • 0.1-0.3: Recommended Deflector position for towing ships with length greater than 50m and draught over 2m.
  • 0.3-0.4:Recommended Deflector position for strong wind/wave riding cruising. Recommended Deflector position for towing ships with length lower than 50m and draught under 2m with torque gear (Speed gear can be used if towed vessel is small enough)
  • 0.4-0.6: Recommended Deflector position for moderate to little wind/waves cruising.
  • 0.6-0.7: Recommended Deflector position for no wind/waves cruising speed in a straight line.

Steering

  • When under deflector position of 0.3, steering keys can be fully pressed down
  • When under deflector position of 0.5, steering keys must be tapped with a short interval in between.
  • When under deflector position of 0.6, steering key must be taped with a decent interval in between.
  • When under and at 0.7, sterring must be done in a pizzacatto style with a relatively long interval in between.

Speed limitations

  • When under deflector position of -0.3: 33 knots.
  • When under deflector position of 0.3: 18 knots.
  • When under deflector position of 0.5: 25 knots.
  • When under deflector position of 0.6: 30 knots.
  • When under deflector position of 0.7: 32 knots.
Illumination Systems

Interior Lighting
The boat is equipped with both day and night lighting for bridge and lower deck, each set of lights has to be manually activated.

Navigation Rule 23, 24, 27, 28 and 30
The boat is equipped with all the standarized lights a ship her length and purpose should have. It counts with:

  • Navigation Lights for vessels with length greater than 12m
  • Restricted Ability to Maneuver Lights
  • Foghorn
  • Emergency illumination devices
