EMD/GMD SW1200RS Road Switcher – Twin Pair – Canadian Pacific
Thank You Everyone for 1000+ Subs! A bonus car is available here.
Built between 1955 and 1964 by General Motors Diesel Canada, the SW1200RS was a variant on EMD’s popular SW-series switchers. These units received Road Switcher modifications including large front numberboards, larger fuel tanks, and Master/Slave Multiple Unit capabilities. Over 250 of these units were produced, with the majority being purchased by Canadian National and Canadian Pacific. It was not uncommon to see 2 or more of these locomotives coupled together to haul a train. These paired units showcase the classic Canadian Pacific brown, grey and gold livery.

It may occasionally be necessary to uncouple the other locomotive(s). (E.G. to move a single locomotive to the rear of your train.) To do this, you should:
- Stop Train
- Turn off all headlights
- Turn on Disable MU Control switch – If in a slave locomotive, only the particular slave will be isolated. If in the controlling locomotive, ALL other locomotives will be isolated.
- Press uncoupling button
- Increase throttle
Once you’ve coupled back onto the other locomotive, turn off the Disable MU Control switch to resume control of your paired locomotive(s)
