Description:

An adaption of the Cult of Slaanesh army list from the Storm of Chaos campaign. Includes new buildings, recruitable Slaanesh units and heroes, technologies and unit buffs among other things. Now with the High Elves’ influence mechanic!

For a working (with issues) campaign version of Sigvald the Magnificent, check out my Sigvald Submod!

Best used together with Black Rabbit’s Elven Lords & Eevi’s Spell Overhaul (fixed version)!

There is no AI support, yet! If you’re not playing as the Cult, the faction might be severely handicapped.

Background

Since Malekith prepares his invasion of Ulthuan, he banished Morathi to the Ancient City of Quintex to reduce her influence over the nobility of Naggaroth. The Hag Sorceress welcomes this chance to reestablish her Cult of Pleasure. Though the Hag Queens believed they had suppressed it for years, this was merely an illusion, and the growth of the Cult dramatic. With a new base of power far from the Witch King’s prying eyes, many heretics return from exile to flock to Morathi’s banner.

Morathi and her coterie of Sorceresses descended upon the nearby tribe of Skeggi. Though separated from their kin in Norsca for generations, the tribe instantly recognized them as favoured by the Prince of Pleasure. While they couldn’t form a decision as a tribe, many tribesmen were entranced by the Sorceresses’ beauty and followed them back to Quintex.

*Loosely adapted from the Cult of Slaanesh text from the Storm of Chaos book.

Buildings

I reworked the building browser, please check the screenshots for more details. The Cult of Pleasure building was replaced with a landmark in the Quintex region, but is available everywhere else.

Some technologies are tied to landmark buildings. Check out the technology tree for more details!

Influence

The Cult of Pleasure makes use of the High Elves’ influence mechanic. For now you can only get more influence from the Cult of Pleasure building chain and the landmarks in Quintex and Skeggi.

Plans for the future

I have plans for a few submods to add some more local units (e.g. Hydras/Kharybdisses from Clar Karond & Beastmen from Athel Loren).

Compatibilty

Works with MrHoon’s Improved Black Arks! (No tooltip)

Fully compatible with Eevi’s Spell Overhaul (fixed version)!

Might be incompatible with unit mods!

I created a new military group, so any custom units need to be added before they show up in campaign! If they are added via the units_to_exclusive_faction_permissions_tables, it can still work but the buildings required might be removed.

There shouldn’t be any other glaring compatibility issues, since I didn’t change any vanilla tables but please let me know if you encounter any.

Known Issues

The Noble’s porthole doesn’t work. I don’t have the correct coodinates and no motivation to start trying random ones.

You sometimes have to save & reload your game after unlocking units through technologies to have it work. I guess this is a vanilla issue but I’m not sure.

Some descriptions might be out of place and refer to things from past versions. I didn’t spent much time reading through them. There are also still a lot of placeholders.
