Amtrak ex-Metroliner Cabcars
Amtrak’s 29 cab cars were rebuilt in the late 1980s from the Metroliners that were suffering from unreliable propulsion systems. The cars are very similiar in build to the Amfleets, with a notable difference being the outside bearing trucks.
In their early days, some cars saw duty on the west coast on the San Diegan. These are commonly seen on the Keystone Corridor still.
This mod is a vaguely accurate representation, using the vanilla Metroliner model and added mesh details. It is lacking some handrails, however.
Three cars are included:
#9640 (Phase III) – 1988
#9644 (Phase IV) – 1993
#9641 (Phase VI) – 2003
Soundset includes bells accurate to road number and a K5LA.
Amtrak NEC Stuff 1 is required.
Features modelcitizen’s couplers
Assets included.
Some additional mesh details are from Kurt Kaminer’s (KLW TrainSim[www.kurtkaminer.com]) MSTS ex-Metroliner cab car.
