Resized Chaos Steeds
This mod enlarges Chaos Steeds, for Chaos Knights, Chaos Knights of Tzeentch, Chaos Chariots, and all Hero/Lord mounts.
Chaos Steeds have been enlarged by 40%, making them just a little smaller than a Wood Elf Great Stag. This makes them match the size of their riders, and makes them look more intimidating.
The unit size of Chaos Knights (excluding the RoR) has been reduced from 60 to 32 (45 to 24). Hitpoints were scaled back up to keep it all consistent with vanilla. Weapon damage was also scaled back up, while also adding a slightly larger splash.
Using this mod with another mod that changes any of the Chaos lord or heroes, or Chaos Knights will result in some type of compatibility issue. Either this mod will overwrite any stat changes in the other mod, or the other mod will completely overwrite this one, resulting in normal sized steeds.
If you want to reproduce this mod, it’s pretty easy.
- Change the unit’s "Category" from a "cavalry" to "war_beast" in the land_unit table. If the unit was already a war_beast, just skip to Step 3.
- Change the unit’s "Man Animation" to one that has the root bone at the origin. The new rider animations in WH3 are (mostly) like that. Some of the WH1/WH2 ones are like that also and usually have a "_wb_" in their name, but those typically don’t have attack animations.
- Increase the mount’s "Mount Scale" in the variants table.

Everyone is using lance animations even if they have swords, so I’ll look into making things a little nicer when animation set editing is a little easier.
And I haven’t actually tested how the Warriors of Chaos stuff looks, I’m sure it looks fine but I’m not gonna check until Immortal Empires is out.
