[SFO] Improved Witch Elves
Ah, the Witch Elves. Nice ladies dedicated to murder for the Murder God… and also dedicated to not wearing an awful lot of clothing. I felt that this unit was punching significantly under their weight, even with SFO installed. Too slow to flank and too fragile to be on the frontlines. Well, this mod changes all that, and brings the murder back to the Witch Elves!
This mod acts as an overhaul of the Witch Elf unit, allowing them to dominate the battlefield against lower-tier melee units and pull off impressively murderous flanks on more elite infantry. The new Witch Elf can definitely act as a front line unit against most cheaper infantry, but they are still fragile and are best used on the flank, or cutting in from the sides. They also excel at chasing down skirmishers who have gotten too close to the fray, or retreating units, thanks to their great speed.
The unit uses SFO’s balancing in terms of unit size, health, etc, so it’s highly recommended that you have it installed. In terms of balance this unit shouldn’t really feel OP relative to it’s recruitment cost and upkeep. If played to it’s strengths it can be an extremely deadly unit, but if you expect the Witch Elves to beat any other elite infantry unit 1v1, you’ve got another thing coming.
♦ Buffed melee attack and defence.
♦ Increased physical resistance.
♦ Increased weapon damage and armour-piercing.
♦ Improved movement and charge speeds.
♦ Increased the unit’s resistance to vigour decay.
♦ Slightly increased melee attack speed.
♦ New ability, "Murderous Grace" with a 60 second cooldown, grants highly increased movement speed and missile resistance at the cost of melee attack for 25 seconds. Great for charging down those archers that want to shoot you to ribbons.
♦ The unit’s campaign recruitment cost and upkeep have been raised significantly to reflect it’s increased strength.
This mod is completely compatible with, and intended to be used with, Steel Faith Overhaul. Don’t use it without or you’ll end up with a very OP unit I suspect. Unless that’s your thing, in which case, go for it.
