Bloodwrack Medusae Rework
Want to ride in her magical chariot? Just don’t look her directly in the eyes. This mod makes the Bloodwrack Medusae, RoR and Shrine more reliable and short ranged like the lore intends.
Her explosions do not hurt friendlies, so she doesn’t accidentally kill her own troops.
Reduced her range to 90, so she can look her enemies in the eyes, before she makes their blood boil and bodies explode… the way Atharti intended.
Increased her explosion AP damage 60 to 120 and reduced her explosion damage 120 to 60, so more AP. She only has to make eye contact.
She’s stupid due to the agonizing pain she is cursed to bare, so reduced her LD to 55 like the River Troll Hag. RoR 65 and Shrine 80. The Shrine does not have leadership, because guiding stupid Medusae into battle is the shrine’s primary purpose.
Added +20 AL to melee to represent her trident which helps a lot considering her high cost and low armor making her a high value target of opportunity. Gave her bracing and charge defense large (CDL). This is quite helpful. She’s a pretty juice target of opportunity for any fast attackers. It’s not just a prop.
Increased her accuracy further, because she has short range and long windup. This makes her performance less random and more reliable. Due to her high projectile velocity, when she wiffs on occasion her projectiles generally go into left field damaging no one despite the large explosion of death they cause.
Aadded 360 degree arc of fire, which feels really good on the move-and-shoot enabled Bloodwrack Shrine. It also helps with the fact that she is short ranged, so she needs to be able to move and shoot to find targets and make the best use of her deadly gaze.
Liked the example set by Ariel and Orion physical resistance in T&T patch, so reduced her health and replaced it with physical resist 20%. Added 15% missile resistance as well like Ariel. Did not do any of these changes on the shrine.
To clean things up, increased the shrine’s siege damage to 250 like the foot Medusae. Also gave the shrine siege attacker like on foot. Capture rate 10, like on foot. Buffed shrine weapon strength to be AP damage. The Hag Shrine and Hellebron Shrine received this treatment already as described in the Twisted & Twilight patch notes and the skaven shrines are also AP, so it’s about time.
Increased the campaign purchase for the Blood Shrine to 1800g and upkeep to 450g, because it should be worth it now with the additional AP damage.
This Medusae is tactically more flexible but has less range to punish her enemies with. Also, look out for her low leadership and her vulnerability to enemy magical attacks. These changes reward active game play.
