In 1968, MÁV (Hungarian State Railways) ordered 200 short, 4-axle flat wagons from the Polish factory SWIDNICA. Their front and end can be opened, so various machinery and even military vehicles are able to be loaded on top. They are also used to transport heavy objects such as bridge parts, rails and logs.
