The 184 series locomotive is a one -system electric locomotive designed for a heavy truck. The series is based on locomotives of the 163 series, from which it took over most of the components. The factory designation is Škoda 93e. The locomotives were to become a planned replacement of older six -axle locomotives of the series 181 and 182, which ended in the late 1980s economic lifetime. Despite the very progressive technical solution, only four machines were produced, which are operated on the so-called Kadaň-Tušimice track in Podkrušnohoří. Thanks to unrealized delivery of the 184 series, older six -axle machines remain in operation to the present.
The development of these locomotives commissioned the then CSD Škoda Plzeň as early as 1988. The machines were supposed to replace the 164 speed trains in version 164, in version 184 the older freight locomotives of the series 181 and 182. [1] In the post -revolutionary period, however, ČD resigned from the contract, and so the first two prototypes were made in 1994 for the mines of the advent of Tušimice, which in the same year became part of the joint -stock company Severočeské doly. The locomotive 184.502 was equipped with a transmission to a maximum speed of 155 km/h, with which it was tested on the velim. [1] In 1996, the transfer was united with the first prototype to 95 km/h. Then the North Bohemian mines ordered two more serial machines that were delivered in 1999. [1] Due to the simplification of maintenance and operation, the first two locomotives were subsequently modified to the same as the newer. Although the SD was considering buying other locomotives, due to their high price, this did not happen and until the 380 locomotives in 2008 the most powerful locomotive from Pilsen Škoda remained in only four copies. After the trial operation in 2000, the 184 series was approved as a type and is therefore admitted to the operation of the railway administration. [1] Today locomotives include DNT successor companies, SD – rail transport. They are kept in her depot in Tušimice.
