Description:

This Is an updated version of the 2020 Basilisks mod https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2129742043 by balrok99 https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198092236389

This mod adds the Basilisk for Chaos, Norsca, Beastmen and Greenskins.

Unit’s showcase here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MbOeV3rE5xY&t=1s

They are available through the following building chains:
-Through the main monsters building chain for the Greenskins.
-Through the main norscan creatures building chain for Norsca.
-Through the main horde creatures building chain for the Beastmen
-Through the main horde magic building chain for Chaos

My updated version changed the following:
-Updated all of the outdated files.
-Added missing unit sets.
-Minor changes regarding attributes.
-Changed the Beastmen version to support the latest Beastmen DLC and Taurox’s faction.
-Augmented building level requirements to prevent the AI from spamming this unit since early game (especially Greenskins).

Ok, presentation over: let’s dive into the technical stuff!

*BALANCE*

I didn’t touch anything regarding that so you are looking at the same stats of the original 2020 mod.
I’m always open for balance patches with my mods but since this Is not my stuff and to respect the original creator’s vision I would like to NOT touch this unit stat at all If not truly necessary.
NOTICE: The unit’s stats screenshot was taken with the unit size setting set to large, so expect more HP if you are playing on Ultra.

*COMPATIBILITY*

As far as I know this mod works with pretty much everything that do not mess too much with vanilla units.
I’m playing the game with 100+ different mods and everything is working fine!
The mod is NOT save compatible.
If you want this Basilisk in your campaign you’ll have to start a new one.

*KNOWN ISSUES*
-Since this unit Is using the stock vanilla Dragon’s ground animations some of them may look odd without the wings.

*UPDATES POLICY*

Let me be straight with you…when the mod status change from updated to outdated….if you start to spam in the comment section things like "update pls, OMG UPDATE, can we have an update my good sir?, UpDaTe!1!1!1" and similar stuff….know that https://media.giphy.com/media/e3URFlLQywEPC/giphy.gif

…But jokes aside: please don’t do that.
When it becomes necessary, and when I can, I will update my stuff, do not worry.

*QA*
-"That’s cool and all but…did you get balrok99’s permission?"
I tried to get in touch with him through his Basilisks’ comment section.
Long story short: He didn’t reply.
So technically He didn’t say Yes but He didn’t say No either; moreover, It Is unclear if balrok99 Is currently retired and/or his account has been hacked and stolen.
Edit: I have now the official permission from balrok99!
-"What about the other balrok99 mods?"
I’m not going to take and update all of them since I’m pretty much only interested in his Elemental Idolz mod.
There are a lot of balance complaints with that mod though so I’ll have to either nerf that mod to the ground or just delete/change Its most problematic parts.
-"What about the SFO version of this mod?"
Is currently hosted by another modder, It’s up to him to decide to update It or not.
You can also ask him the permission to make another SFO version of this if He’s not intentioned to update It.
You can use this mod as a template and then add the missing SFO stuff, you have my permission.
Just remember to credit balrok99 properly.
An eventual SFO port of this Is NOT coming from me any time soon since I’m officially retired from SFO related modding.

And that’s all I guess!
Credits time!
