Description:

Introducing the final version of the Submarine Aircraft Carrier.

Project air power far from your shores with the MKV.

About the vessel

MKV is a nuclear powered submarine aircraft carrier. This is the 5th and final revision of the hull type, completely modernised with advanced features and weaponry. The vessel can remain underwater indefinitely with infinite range, storing 2 VTOL fighters or medium lift helicopters in the hangar.

MKV provides the Navy with a near-undetectable maritime strike capability.

Improvements over MK4

Nuclear conversion

Max speed increased by 13kts

Depth hold at any speed

New Sonar package

$140,000 unit cost reduction

Advanced manoeuvring thrusters

Armament upgrades

Basic Operating Instructions

Fire up the reactor at the rear of the ship, the reactor operates at 350 degrees and takes a moment to warm up.

Diving is controlled by filling and emptying the ballast tanks. Dive planes (W/S) are sticky for smooth operation and can be used to control the pitch / trim of the vessel. The ship will dive nicely when moving or static.

Set the depth hold on the keypad (eg -10), this works when moving or static.

The additional storage tanks are for storing airlock fluid at depth and not required for diving.

Use the electrical connectors and winches to perfectly center the aircraft on the elevator.

The Airlock, Bilge pumps and air conditioning are automated for your convenience. Please read the airlock operation section below.

Main monitor, map and sonar are touchscreen.

Hangar fuel tank 1 is set to Jet Fuel, 2 is Diesel. There is a spawner in each tank to change fuel types.

Maximum wind state for hangar operation is around 40.

Operating the airlock

The airlock is semi-automatic and can be used at any depth.

In shallow water (upto around -20m) it is automatic and will pump water outside the ship by itself.

At depth, you must press the button in the chamber. it will store water in the front & rear tanks for pumping out later.

One must be mindful, there are only a finite amount of deep water airlock drains before the storage tanks are filled.

Take notice of the tank level warning indicator in the airlock room.

Controls for pumping the water out are in the main control room.

Please note that the side airlock room (on the tower) is still only suited for shallow dives.

Troubleshooting

Elevator stuck – press the button a couple of times

Torpedo tubes must be fully submerged to launch – torps are fire-and-forget

Do not start jet engines inside the hangar, the game does not know this situation and it will damage the engine. Start jet engines only from the flight deck.
