Greedy Limpet

The Greedy Limpet is a new passive item that loves coins! Every time you pick up a coin, the limpet gets a little more excited – granting you a small stat upgrade. Larger coins grant larger stat bonuses. If the limpet gets too excited it’ll jump out of its rocky shell, resetting its stat bonuses but giving you access to the treasures the limpet was hiding within its rocky home.
The Greedy Limpet can drop anything from keys and bombs to runes and even rarely a shop item. The limpet leaves in such a hurry it even leaves its shell behind. This new pickup – the Hollowed-Out Rock – is guaranteed to spawn along with its regular drops, and can be used to summon the limpet’s friends to your aid: causing waves of rock quakes across the room. It can be mimic’d using the Blank Rune too! Beware though, once the limpet has left its shell it will only return at the start of the next floor; stat bonuses will not be gained from picking up coins until this happens.
Being a money loving snail, the Greedy Limpet has synergies with a couple of money related items. The quarter increases the chance that the limpet will leave its shell and drop its treasures, whereas the dollar prevents the limpet from leaving entirely – meaning the stat upgrades are permanent.
