Ice-cooled refrigerator wagon mod. 1937
The cooling of the products in these wagons was carried out using a mixture of ice and salt poured into the ice tank under the roof. They were difficult to operate because they required replenishment of melting ice in transit approximately once a day, so from 1964 the production of ice-based wagons in the USSR was discontinued and they was replaсed by engine-powered refrigerator wagons.
