Ikarus 55/66
The Ikarus 55, one of the best known and most successful types of long-distance and tourist buses, was manufactured between 1954 and 1973 at the Ikarus factory. It is the sister type of the 55 city bus, the Ikarus 66 city bus.The Ikarus 66 is the urban-suburban bus type of the Ikarus factory. Most of the 9,260 units produced were exported to the German Democratic Republic, and through the approximately 2,700 vehicles delivered to the Hungarian Volán companies, it was one of the dominant types of bus transport in the 1960s and 1970s.
