Description:
Relationships Matter – Enhanced Friends, Rivals and Character Interactions!

In ROTK allegiances of individuals were more fluid than we see in Total War: Three Kingdoms, generals constantly shifted their loyalty and made decisions on who their friends were. This mod highlights and improves all of the relationships mechanics in TW:3k.

Relationships will always be shifting, characters will be making more friends and more rivals based on their personality and who they are working with. Minsters who like each other will harmonize and see their friendship bloom and their satisfaction will increase. Conversely, officials who dislike each other and are forced to work together will bicker with each other, eventually escalating to outright rivalry.

Characters will interact with each other based on three different levels. Nearby Local Characters, Their Ruler, and other Ministers in the Government (if they are a minister). Characters in your court (not deployed) are all considered local to each other in the capital which can make your court a very dangerous place for officers who don’t get along…

More Mod Details

This mod injects more life into historic and generic characters, delivers a deeper Guanxi system, increases the importance of trait compatibility, enhances character relationship depth, and provides flavorful event dialogue to immerse yourself in the rich history of Three Kingdoms.

What it does:
Adds almost 1,000 events to Total War: Three Kingdoms that dramatically alter how nearby generals get along, how ministers harmonize or clash, and how subordinates respond to your ruler’s personality based on characters’ dozens of potential traits. For scale, 1,000 events is more than the base game of 3K and every DLC combined.
Traits that are friendly or antagonistic against one another are greatly expanded for the purposes of said events.
Changes the impact of interpersonal relationships on character loyalty. Friendships and rivalries within your empire, nearby characters, minister composition, and ruler relationships will matter a lot more.
Adds banquet events – who will you toast?
New low satisfaction events – generals with low satisfaction may occasionally try to turn your generals, your citizens, or other characters against you.
Tweaks to how long generals remember you employing, executing, or releasing friends and rivals. Further, adds a jealousy satisfaction penalty for being passed over for court positions by lower ranked officers.

I believe Donkey’s plan was to write custom events for hundreds of the trait vs trait triggers, but instead I have substituted generic sounding events. The final effect is the same as Donkey’s mod – if you put generals in the same army or nearby people they dont get along with (red X) events will fire that will decrease their relationships, eventually causing them to become rivals. This almost NEVER happens in the vanilla game, so in the vanilla game there is basically no downside to officers that don’t get along.
