Fox County

Fox County features semi-fictional region based on real life area in Montana State, USA. While landscape is real, most part of road grid are fictional as well as lake Bowdoin which you might recognize from my other map – Marble County. Map gives you decent amount of resources, but you can’t say they are easily accessible so you have to think wisely about infrastrutcture.
The most unique feauture of this map is that it actually breakes the limits of the game and gives you 30×30 km of overall area with 26×26 km (676 km2) area available for you to build on. To compare, vanilla maps gives you 16×16 km or 256 km2 area and some custom maps gives you 400km2 by utilizing all 20x20km zone.
Keep in mind, you must have mid-high specs of your PC or laptop to play comfortably as it breaking limits of the game and might cause significant performance drops on weak configs.
Also don’t forget that some unexpected bugs may occur that I wasn’t aware of since this map is a very hacky thing and doesn’t supported officially.

Map Stats:

Known bugs:
- It’s impossible to edit resources via terrain editor due to weird glitch on my side with saving dds file for resources maps. It is not related in any way to me breaking the limits of game and happens on any map I edit; Fixed. If you already started game on previous version, then go to steamappsworkshopcontent7841502799326686 , copy resourcemap.dds and resourcemap2.dds, then go to your save folder and paste them with replace;
- Planes that was sent to foreign countries do their stuff and U-turn just on map edges. It’s purely visual, and I can’t do anything about it yet. Still looks kind of silly 🙂
- Ships behave weirdly and refuses to go outside of original 20×20 km area. I’m looking for a way to fix it;
- Minimap doesn’t show an accurate position of your camera. Developers now aware of my experiments and look into updating whole map system.
